Hi all,

We have just released STV 5.4. This version should be compatible with Xcode 8, provided that you unsign Xcode (as discussed earlier). Please follow the updated installation instructions (make sure you refresh the page to clear any old browser cache).

Known Issues - We've been able to resolve all the compatibility issues we were having earlier, except the following:

During compilation, the storyboard can produce the following error for some projects:  Exception while running ibtool: Unable to parse constraint format

This error can be resolved by clearing all the Auto Layout constraints that were automatically created by STV and manually creating your own. I know this could be a very tedious process, but we really tried hard and couldn't figure out why Xcode 8 was doing this. The good news is that your project might not produce this error at all to begin with.

Please let me know if you face have any other issues. Good luck!

Hi Tarek,

Well done getting STV to work with Xcode 8.

Most of my apps are code only and STV 5.4 looks to be working great with iOS10 as well.

I expect a lot of people are going to be reluctant to unsign Xcode. As STV 5.x code is still as great as it ever was, it might be useful to provide coded example apps as per STV 3.x.

There's a thread here:

where Stefen http://sensiblecocoa...r/518-stefanhp/ was asking for code.

I did try updating a 3.x example to 5.x but ran into problems as per that thread.

Hi Tarek,

Are there any further releases of STV planned?

P.S. I hate Swift.. don't talk Swift.. Too old school to learn yet another programming language.

Should we assume that there is no future for STV?  :(
